Christ Episcopal Church in Dover, Delaware follows this vision: As Christ does, we will. With God’s help we are looking for an Organist, Director of Music Ministry to join us in this holy work. Might this be you?
We draw on The Hymnal 1982, Lift Every Voice and Sing; Wonder, Love and Praise and other resources. Our volunteer choir helps lead our 10 AM service on Sunday and on occasion with our contemporary musical group, Glorify.
Worship is the core gathering of our faith family; it informs everything else that we do. As part of a recent Church Renovation Project, we replaced our Moeller Pipe Organ Console. We also completely re-leathered our organ; this project finished a decades-long effort to restore our primary instrument.
The Organist, Director of Music Ministry is a part-time salaried position, with an expected average of fifteen hours per week. Ideal candidates would have experience with and an openness to Broad Church liturgy; training as an organist with Bachelor of Music degree and/or American Guild of Organists certification, or equivalent background; experience with conducting choirs of all ages and levels; and skill at conducting from the bench.
This person would work independently and collaboratively with the Clergy, Staff, Choirs and other musicians. He or she would have first right of refusal for weddings and funerals. Christ Church covers AGO membership fees and basic continuing education. Please send a resume to jsamilio@christchurchdover.org. |
