Position requires a highly-skilled professional organist, choir director, educator, and administrator called to the church music ministry. Advanced degree in organ and choral conducting, with 3-5 years of experience preferred.Applicants must demonstrate a working knowledge of, and commitment to, Anglican liturgical music and a willingness to explore genres. An affiliate of RSCM America, Good Shepherd currently has two mixed adult choirs (volunteer and paid singers), a treble choir, and a thriving training choir for young children. The church generally follows Rite II at all services offering music, using The Hymnal 1982, Lift Every Voice and Sing, and Wonder, Love and Praise. As well as traditional offerings, the church offers special music programming ranging from classical to jazz to acoustic – serving as a resource to the community and diocese.

Good Shepherd’s music program is greatly enhanced by the Miller and Wrigley organ, installed in 2013. This instrument, Goulding and Wood – Opus 50, features four manuals encompassing 58 ranks with antiphonal division. A dedicated choir room includes a Steinway M piano, custom-built standing choir desks, private office, and choral library of approximately 1,000 catalogued titles.

Good Shepherd, a Gothic-style stone building constructed in 1925, anchors an historic area adjacent to downtown Lexington, close to the University of Kentucky and Transylvania campuses. Known as the Horse Capital of the World, Lexington is situated in the heart of the famed Bluegrass region.
