|Music Director/Organist Position
The Musician agrees to provide musical accompaniment for one service, or more should there be need or a change in services offered, on each of the Sundays of the year. Additionally, the Musician agrees to provide musical accompaniment for services on Christmas, during Holy week, also weddings, funerals, and other services as needed, in discussion with the Rector. The primary instrument for services is the pipe organ. An audition for interview will be expected.
The Musician agrees to lead choir rehearsals on a regular basis as negotiated with the Rector, members of the choir, and the needs of the Parish. There is an expectation of regular presentation of anthems at services and particularly at holidays such as Holy Week, Easter, and Christmas. In addition, there is an expectation that the building up and growing the Adult choir will be vital. 10 to 15 hours a week, or more as needed to fulfill responsibilities, are expected.
This is a salaried position with a partial Church Pension Group pension (details in interview) beginning after 6 months of successful employment, but with no health benefits attached. 4 paid Sundays off a year are offered. Further, the Parish will provide the Musician a fund to purchase music, for royalty coverage, and other necessary expenses. These will help maintain a music program. The Parish will allot funds in order to maintain the instruments of the Parish.
