Job Description
Christ Episcopal Church in Cody, Wyoming seeks a creative, talented, flexible, and enthusiastic Music Director. Having enjoyed 50 years of one choir director and organist (and enjoying the current interim director and contract organists), Christ Episcopal Church is a church with a deep appreciation of music in the liturgy. While we enjoy our traditional pipe organ and choir, we also delight in experimenting with new styles and songs (contemporary, call-and-response, Taize) and different instruments. The congregation’s bell choir and additional instrumentation (flute, guitar, bass, mandolin, French horn, etc.) are very popular and add a special note to their periodic use in service. Through music and singing, everyone participates in the service. We are open to trying new music and moving forward in the way we use music to enrich our worship while remaining faithful to our traditional roots.
