Job Description
The Episcopal Diocese of North Dakota seeks a full-time priest to be priest in charge of St. Thomas, Fort Totten; develop diocesan youth & young adult ministry; and provide sacramental and congregational development ministry in small congregations. St. Thomas wants to grow by focusing on youth & young adults and development of local leadership and community partnerships. They seek sacramental, pastoral, and administrative support and mentoring. Congregations throughout the diocese seek to develop youth & young adult ministries, establish presence on college campuses, address liturgical and cultural opportunities to engage youth & young adults more fully, and pursue ecumenical connections. The diocese seeks a priest to provide sacramental leadership, mentoring, and encouragement in small churches led by lay people and deacons. This position requires an innovative, flexible, community organizer/asset-based community developer, with experience or aptitude with Indigenous/Native American contexts; developing leadership for youth & young adult ministry in rural, town, suburban, and urban contexts; ministry in collaboration with local leaders in very small contexts; as well as the ability both to thrive in relative isolation and to collaborate with others through technology, travel, and perseverance; to drive long distances (reimbursed), often in harsh weather; and to pivot with closures. Winter sport opportunities abound, and summer days are gloriously long and relatively mild.
