|Good Samaritan Episcopal Church, located near the University of California San Diego (UCSD), is seeking to hire a full-time Minister of Formation. Good Samaritan is a blend of ancient tradition and fresh, contemporary expressions of Christianity, especially in our music. We are scientists, social workers, artists, moms and dads, straight, gay, professors, students, babysitters, teachers, military, pacifist, nurses and doctors, retired, and underemployed. We are progressive and inclusive. We pray the ancient creeds, and we apply them to today’s issues. Our Mission is to be the gospel of Christ by holding hands, reaching out to our neighbors and striving to love and be loved.
The Minister of Formation Will:
• be a visionary with a passion for life in the community and not merely an administrator
Ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree, theological degree or significant theological formation; at least 3-5 years’ experience working in a congregational setting with a variety of ages (paid or volunteer), within a liturgical tradition that need not necessarily be Episcopal, and/or experience in classroom teaching.
