| The interim Organist/Choirmaster will be responsible for the music at the principal Sunday morning Eucharist and other occasional services such as Evensong. The duties will include rehearsing, directing and accompanying the volunteer choir of adult men and women. There is provision in the budget to hire a paid section leader for each of the four sections. In addition the Organist/Choirmaster will select the hymns in collaboration with the dean and will provide appropriate organ music before and after the service.
Because the choir has recently been formed after a period of no choral music at the Sunday service, part of the responsibilities of the musician will be to nurture and further develop the skills and confidence of the choir.
Administrative duties will include preparing a music budget and recruiting new volunteer members as well as hiring new or additional paid singers as needed.
The Music Committee will be very supportive of the efforts of the Organist/Choirmaster and will be of great help to the efforts of both the choir and the Organist/Choirmaster. |
