Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to serve as the Executive Director (CEO) of Camp McDowell. With an operating budget of $4.4 million dollars, and 150 full and part-time staff this person will be responsible for management, strategic planning, development of funding sources, & curating collaboration & partnerships within the Episcopal Diocese & beyond. A strong blend of leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills, passion for outdoor education, a sense of humor, experiential learning, and a deep faith are essential.

Responsibilities:

Leadership: Oversee all aspects of operations of Camp McDowell

Strategic Planning: Develop & implement a comprehensive faith-based and mission-driven strategic plan

Advancement & Development: Manage fundraising, donor relationships, engage new & existing donors and funders

Collaboration and Partnerships: Build & maintain strong relationships with the Diocese of Alabama, Episcopal Church, organizations, schools, businesses, local & state municipalities

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree
Visionary leader with a strong faith who has a proven commitment to living the way the world could be, in keeping with the mission and vision of Camp McDowell
Successful record of fundraising & resource development
Superior management of personnel, property, program, financial resources & communication skills
Ability to work independently & collaboratively
Strong relational & communication skills
