|Large Episcopal parish on Manhattan’s Upper East Side seeks dynamic lay leader for programs with teenagers and young adults. Full-time position with salary and benefits.
• Creatively shape a comprehensive program for youth in grades 7-12, including worship, Christian education, fellowship, and mission/outreach. Youth ministry at St. James’ is vibrant and growing, and includes active middle and high school youth groups, a year-long 8th grade Confirmation program, retreats, mission trips, and monthly evenings hosting dinner for homeless guests.
• Serve as staff to the “St. Jamesians,” our ministry with young adults in their 20s and 30s. The goal of this ministry is to integrate young adults into the life of the Church, and it is a critical area for parish growth as this group makes up the single largest group of newcomers at St. James’.
• Collaborate with clergy, staff, and lay leaders to deepen the parish’s commitment to helping parishioners of all ages grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
This is a full-time position, and a significant portion of this work takes place beyond normal business hours on Sunday mornings, weeknights and weekends.
