Job Description
Oversee the design and implementation of youth activities—small group gatherings, youth nights, & education
programs—grounded in the love of Jesus Christ and consistent with the theology of the Episcopal Church.
Encourage youth participation in worship, collaborating with acolyte & youth lector ministry leaders. Working with the Outreach Ministry, plan the annual mission trip & other seasonal projects to inspire a sense of service. Help volunteer leaders run the Youth Confirmation class.
Oversee & help grow St. John’s team of Sunday School teachers & weekly Children’s Chapel volunteers. Collaborate with Sunday School & Music Ministry leaders on curriculum for children in PreK-5th grades. Provide guidance & direction for monthly Club 45 activities (4th & 5th grade) & seasonal intergenerational events.
Work closely with key youth & adult lay leaders to establish steering committee &/or youth commission for planning & implementation of ministry goals. Communicate & build relationships with St. John’s young families & parents of youth. Recruit, train, & motivate volunteers, while making sure they are compliant with Diocesan policies. Foster prayer & spiritual growth among leaders & youth.
Manage ministry budgets, youth fundraising, & finances. Oversee ministry-specific web & social media platforms.  Attend staff meetings & other parish committee meetings.
