is seeking a full-time Director of Music and Organist to oversee the entire music program for a congregation with an active membership of over 500 members. St. Bartholomew’s was established just 65 years ago. The congregation is known for its deep commitment to social justice, meaningful worship opportunities, and glorious music. The major responsibilities include, but are not limited to, serving as organist for all worship services, and rehearsing and conducting three adult choirs and a treble choir.
A Bachelor’s Degree in the field of music and knowledge of Royal School of Church Music’s (RSCM’s) curriculum are required. Five or more years of Anglican/Episcopal church experience is strongly preferred with knowledge of and an ability to integrate other genres. Must be comfortable working with children as young as 8 years old, and be able to work with the Music Committee to organize and raise funds for choir tours for the treble choir (biennial) and the adult choirs (Gloucester Cathedral, Jul 2021).
The salary range is $53,000 to $60,000 and benefits include health insurance for the employee, pension, 4 weeks annual vacation, continuing education and sabbatical.
