|Director of Faith Formation|
|Name of church or organization|
|Parish of the Epiphany|
|A full-time salaried position to serve in a large Episcopal Church in suburban Boston, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will be a passionate Christian formation professional, preferably with teaching experience in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd; the person must be highly organized and able to engage children, teens, parents, and volunteers with creativity and enthusiasm.
The Parish of the Epiphany has a rich history of forming children, youth, and families through worship, learning, mission, and community building. Staff, volunteer leaders, and a committed core of families have demonstrated excitement to try new programs, curricula, and schedules. Our long-standing commitment to Mission & Outreach (globally and locally) equips us to integrate these existing strong programs with how we form and educate children, youth, and families. The ideal candidate will bring a background in managing change.
We are currently a parish in transition; our 10th rector was elected bishop to the Diocese of Maine in February 2019. We are a stable, healthy, and thriving church who look forward to discerning what the future holds for us. We anticipate calling a new rector by the end of our 2019-2020 program year.
The director of faith formation will report initially to the wardens, and will work collaboratively with the interim rector, director of music, and all other clergy and lay staff, as well as a committed group of lay leaders. Demonstrated skills in program development, implementation and revitalization, recruitment and support of volunteers, and communication are essential.
