|The primary responsibility of the Director of Communications and Networking is to assure effective communications by the diocese in order to support and further the mission, vision, core values and ministries of the Bishop and congregations of the diocese. The position of Director of Communications and Networking encompasses the Brand Building, Digital and Print Communications, and Media Relations functions of the diocese. This responsibility furthers the work of the Episcopal Church in Southeast Florida locally, regionally and nationally. The Director of Communications and Networking prepares and distributes electronic, print, audio and video communications; oversees website and social media activity; and handles all media relations for the Bishop’s Office. The Director is a member of the Bishop’s Executive staff.
The successful candidate will be a fast-learner, a self-starter and interested in working with a wide variety of people. Detail oriented while keeping the bigger picture of mission and vision of the church. Possess a sense of humor and an ability to foster a positive work environment.
Preferred education and expertise: Master’s Degree in relevant field, with a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in journalism, public relations, communications, and/or public affairs. Bi-cultural ability in Spanish and English a plus.
