Job Description
The Director of Children and Youth Ministries, DCYM, will be responsible for the spiritual development and pastoral care of children, youth and families. This is a full-time, 35 hours per week, lay position which reports to the Rector. This person will encourage, support, and develop programs that provide a place for our children and youth to deepen their relationship with God. The duties include the following:

 Responsible for formation programs for youth, children and families
 Working with the Rector, insure that outreach opportunities, spirituality and worship
are offered within the framework of the Episcopal Church traditions
 Lead programs and events of the Episcopal Youth Community (EYC)
 Overall supervision, planning, recruitment and support of teachers and volunteers for
Sunday formation, Vacation Bible School, Nativity Pageant, and Shadow Stations of
the Cross
 Plan monthly inter generational events for parents and family
 Be present and available on Sunday mornings
 Coordinate and chaperone youth participation in Diocesan events
 Provide opportunities for training in Safe Church practices and ensure that all
volunteers follow diocesan policy
Communicate regularly and consistently with parents and families, the parish and the
Diocese through Parish Newsletter, Sunday Bulletins, and Social Media
 Participate in all staff meetings (including the regular Tuesday morning meeting) and
work collaboratively with all
 Purchase curriculum materials and other supplies as needed
 Submit an annual budget for Nursery, Children and Youth
 Working with the Rector, oversee planning for triannual youth pilgrimage and National
Acolyte Conference in Washington D. C.
