Job Description
Episcopal Campus Ministry for Radford University (RU), Radford,VA is seeking a part-time Director (10 hours a week in the school year). Competitive salary and option for housing. The campus ministry is an extension of the ministry and mission of Grace Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Diocese of Southwestern Virginia. We are seeking an experienced Campus Ministry Director that can honor and build upon the historic tradition and campus presence of our former Canterbury Club as we replant and grow our campus ministry. Our new Director will be centered in the Christian faith, preferably Episcopalian, although other faith traditions will be considered.

Grace Campus Ministry at RU is at an exciting crossroads in our vision to renew and rebuild our campus ministry in ways that are rooted in Episcopal practice and theology while also implementing a contemporary model of outreach to those beyond our Episcopal traditional borders including students who are unchurched or non-traditional spiritual seekers. We seek a campus minster with the heart of a community builder and church planter who is willing to reach out to the RU campus in creative and engaging ways.

This is a 10 month position anticipated to become permanent. It will begin in August, 2018, and end in May, 2019 and is a one-year renewable contract to be renegotiated at the end of the school year. Housing can be negotiated as part of the contract.

Requirements
College degree; preference for religion major.
Experience in college campus ministry or young adult ministry in the Christian tradition.
Expected to regularly attend Grace Church and bring students.
The Director will have familiarity with or willingness to learn the services in The Book of Common Prayer and be willing to help plan or lead Evening Prayer, Compline, etc. in accordance with their order of ministry.
Experience with engaging young adults through current social media trends and platforms.
Regular attendance and engagement with the Radford University Campus Ministry Association.

Personal qualities desired
Dynamic, creative, well organized, enthusiastic about working with college students.
Willingness to embrace and help build-up ecumenical partnerships and ministries; openness to dialogue and connections with non-Christian organizations (e.g. Judaic and Islamic traditions).
Good group dynamic and facilitation skills, people skills, listening skills; emotionally healthy, experience with healthy conflict resolution and management.
Able to initiate and work independently on projects and programs.
Musical experience a plus (plays guitar, for example).
Be available to RU students for mentoring and knowledgeable of community resources.

The Campus Ministry Director is supervised by the Rector of Grace Episcopal Church, Radford VA and works with the Campus Ministry Committee of Grace Church.
