Job Description
This position will be shared between two churches, with the candidate spending 50% in one
parish and 50% in the other (the two parishes are seven miles apart). Based on the
candidate’s preferences and the congregations’ needs, we will work with the candidate to
create a monthly schedule that works for all constituents.

St. Elizabeth’s Church of Sudbury
We are seeking a Curate who will share with the clergy and support staff the comprehensive
ministry of the parish, including liturgical leadership and pastoral care with a focus on the
youth ministries. The primary responsibility of this position will be the development and
administrative oversight of all programs within the parish’s education formation, ranging
from early childhood through college age. Blessed with many children, our church school
and youth programs are an important part of who we are.

Our church school curriculum is based on the Catechesis of the Good Shepard (COGS), Rite
13, Journey to Adulthood (J2A), and Young Adults in the Church (YAC). In addition, two
seminal activities include: (1) high school youth and adult leaders participate in the
Appalachia Service Project (ASP), spending a week participating in home repair ministry
and relationship building with low-income home owners and their families; and (2) in
alternating years, the Rite 13 class undertake a Pilgrimage as part of their Christian
formation.

St. Peter’s Church of Weston
We are seeking a Curate who has a strong commitment to the loving, liberating, and life-giving Way of Jesus and is excited to invite others into this way. The Curate will
collaborate with the Rector, staff, and lay leaders in the comprehensive ministry of the
parish. The primary responsibility of this position will be to build on the key learnings of
the last few years to re-imagine and implement faith formation for families with children
and youth.

St. Peter’s is in the midst of discerning a new way to grant the $25,000 directed to
outreach ministries each year. Together with the Episcopal City Mission parishioners are
exploring possible partnerships that will allow for the development of relationships with
those who are often on the margins of society. The Curate will help find ways to include
families in this partnership. The successful candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic,
excited about engaging with the congregation and have strong time management and
project management skills.

Type of commitment
On a monthly basis, Curate will spend 50% of time in each church. The exact details of this
schedule will be determined in collaboration with the candidate and delineated prior to
hiring.
