||St George’s College, Jerusalem is seeking a Course Director and Lecturer in Contextual Biblical Studies to commence May 2022. This is a three-year appointment in the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem with accommodation provided within the Cathedral Close of St George the Martyr, Jerusalem. A number of other College and Cathedral staff live within the Close. This is a senior position working alongside a small team of teaching and administrative staff and reporting to the College Dean.
St George’s College is the Anglican Centre of pilgrimage, education, hospitality and reconciliation in Jerusalem. Through study, site visits, engaging with the local Christian community, prayer and reflection, lives are transformed and faith renewed. The College attracts pilgrims from all over the world to the short-term study pilgrimages which are offered throughout the year. Courses are expansive and transformative, immersing students in the land, the scriptures, recent archeology, history, contextual religious and political issues. Teaching is combined with theological reflection and devotional practices. The Course Director plans and leads all the courses and works with other staff to ensure a high-quality learning experience.
Salary: US$45,000 in addition, housing, utilities, health insurance, the cost of one flight home per annum and other in-kind benefits are provided (amounting to a value of at least US$32,000pa). Details of the package including relocation costs will be worked out with the successful candidate.
