Job Description
The Communications & Marketing (C&M) Manager is responsible for providing communications support for the Church Divinity School of the Pacific (CDSP), a seminary based in Berkeley, CA, which is part of the leadership initiative of Trinity Church Wall Street. The C&M Manager will plan, create and distribute internal and external communications, advancement, and marketing campaigns for CDSP, including student, staff, alumni, and donor communications, across digital and print media. This is the perfect position for someone who thrives in a close-knit academic and mission-driven environment, with the support of a larger organization. The Communications & Marketing Manager will report to the Chief Operating Officer at CDSP and the Chief Communications Officer at Trinity but also will work closely day-to-day with the Dean and other CDSP staff.

Plan, create, edit, and distribute content for CDSP’s communications to students, staff, alumni, and donors for the seminary’s website, social media, email campaigns, and advertising
Create and distribute regular email blasts for fundraising appeals and institutional updates
Manage outside consultants as needed for website updates and production of the biannual print magazine, Crossings
Work closely with CDSP’s Chief Operating Officer to assist with events, including recruitment and commencement
Work closely with Trinity’s Communications & Marketing team to coordinate support from Creative Services, Content, and Media Operations (video), and PR/Media Relations teams, as appropriate
Assume other related responsibilities and special projects as required by both the CDSP leadership and Trinity’s Chief Communications Officer
Perform all duties in a manner that promotes CDSP’s and Trinity’s mission and core values
Adhere to confidentiality rules and all other Trinity Church Wall Street and CDSP policies, procedures, and rules

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience working with ConstantContact, Marketo, or other email marketing platforms.
Experience in managing social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
Basic knowledge of print and web design/layout and working within web CMS.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment and to meet deadlines.
Ability to be flexible amid changing priorities or deadlines.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Ability to form effective relationships with a wide variety of partners, including senior management, vendors, and other departments.
Comfortable working in the smaller, collegiate environment of CDSP as well as the parent organization at Trinity Church Wall Street.
Knowledge of academic environments and Episcopal Church workings preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience
5-7 years of experience working in marketing and communications
High comfort level working with top executives and professionals
Experience in higher education preferred
