Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, Binghamton, NY seeks a highly skilled musician for the half-time position of Music Director to supervise an established and successful traditional music program at a medium size parish committed to excellence in music and liturgy.
The candidate would be expected to have earned a degree in music (organ and/or choral conducting), have experience in a church and/or academic setting, and have an ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Direct the total music program subject to the approval of the rector.
- Provide organ music for Sunday services and seasonal services.
- Prepare the choir to sing service music, hymns, and anthems.
- Prepare the Bell Choir for the presentation of music at occasional Sunday services and holidays.
- Supervise the selection and preparation of solos and other instrumental and vocal music for occasional and holiday usage.
- Prepare introductions, alternate harmonizations and descants for hymns.
- Provide music for funerals and weddings as requested at an additional fee.
- Supervise the maintenance of all musical instruments.
- Audition, hire, and supervise paid choral singers.
