Who We Are: Good Shepherd is a vibrant, growing, Episcopal parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington.  We are committed to spreading the love of God in word and deed.  Our parish theme is Love is all, and our aim is to live out the love-ethic of Jesus as presented in the Sermon on the Mount.  We have meaningful, traditional worship, a deep contemplative prayer life, an enthusiastic community, beautiful music, active outreach programs, and robust formation offerings for all ages. Christian Formation for children and youth – The Children and Families Minister is the active lead for Nursery, Sunday school, and Children’s Chapel for ages newborn through 5th grade. The Children and Families Minister arranges for and supports the formation programs for middle and high school youth. The minister will manage the nursery schedule and workers.

Good Shepherd Day School – The Children and Families Minister serves in a chaplaincy role for the children of the Day School which includes leading multiple chapels for the students on a weekly basis. The minister also works closely with the Day School director and the Rector to develop, nurture, and strengthen the ties that bind the school and the parish together

Outreach – The Children and Families Minister identifies, develops, and facilitates outreach opportunities for Good Shepherd families.

The Children and Families Minister will also collaborate with the church staff and volunteers to carry out other parish life duties as assigned.
