Job Description
The University Chaplain presides over the worship, spiritual nourishment and gospel witness of Saint Augustine’s and develops and coordinates religious life at the University to the end that students, faculty and staff deepen their faith and become ambassadors of the beloved community of God. The Chaplain will be responsible for directing the worship and related activities of Saint Augustine’s Chapel, which serves as an iconic symbol of welcome and fellowship in the tradition of The Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion. The Chaplain will encourage students, faculty and staff to bring their diverse gifts of beliefs, experiences and talents in the worship life of the University. The Chapel is an inclusive and welcoming community, embracing a diversity of cultures and uniting all through the
unconditional love of Jesus Christ.

This is a regular, full-time position and the individual will be employed by Saint Augustine’s University and work in partnership with The Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina. Salary is budgeted at $55,000 and offers a benefits package that provides options for medical, dental, vision, life, short and long-term disability insurance, retirement and other supplemental programs.
