Job Description
The Cathedral Canon will approach the entirety of their work with grace, good humor, and an unwavering commitment to serving the cathedral community in lifegiving ways. We seek a highly relational person with initiative and a demonstrated ability to work well with persons of all ages. This person will serve as a visionary leader and staff resource to various ministry groups with empowering others for ministry.

The Cathedral Canon shall share in the mission and ministry of Saint Mark’s Cathedral Parish, as pastor, priest and teacher. By word and action, the Cathedral Canon shall proclaim the Gospel, love and serve Christ’s people, caring alike for young and old, strong and weak, rich and poor, and nurture and strengthen them to glorify God in this life and in the life to come.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Cathedral Canon will work closely with the dean and other cathedral clergy, several program staff and lay leaders in an array of ministries that embody the common life of this cathedral community, which is a blend of parish, diocesan resource, and gathering place for the broader community in this region. Together, the Senior Leadership Team will ensure a comprehensive program for the formation of disciples of all ages, providing several touchpoints for intergenerational experiences of worship, formation, fellowship, and justice work.
