|Grace Place Campus Ministry at Northern Illinois University|
|The Grace Place campus ministry at Northern Illinois University is seeking a chaplain. The joint Episcopal and Lutheran ministry serves the students at one of Illinois’ public universities and offers fellowship, a meal, and Eucharist each Tuesday evening. NIU enjoys an ethnically and racially diverse student population and includes students in residence, commuters, and posts-traditional students. Grace Place opens its doors to all students and fosters an environment of hospitality, security and openness. A primary ministry of the chaplaincy is food security. Approximately one-third of the NIU student body is food insecure. The ministry along with community partners offers about 250 lunches each week and emergency food supplies to the campus community. The Grace Place community also participates in intercultural and interfaith events, and the building offers a place for students to study, rest, renew and is open to all, regardless of religious affiliation. The new chaplain will oversee and collaborate with student peer ministers to establish programs for spiritual growth and to address the needs of the campus community.
The position is 3/4 time, active during the academic year with summers off.
