|Associate Rector/Pastoral Associate

We are seeking an innovative and creative person to share full time in our ministry as we extend the good news we share within our parish community with others. We recognize that the world around us is changing quickly, including the ways in which people connect to community and practice spirituality. Our next associate will work with our energetic and talented staff as we find new ways to understand and respond to these changes. He or she will bring gifts that empower people to practice a lively faith and to find their place in a caring and supportive community.

Responsibilities of the Role:
The Associate Rector/Pastoral Associate is called by and accountable to the Rector In partnership with the rest of the staff and extends and supports the ministry of the parish, community and diocese. The associate shares in the responsibilities of welcoming, worship, teaching, pastoral care, empowering laity, and deepening connections in the existing parish community. The Associate should also be administratively gifted, able to recruit, develop and support ministry teams.
The Associate will take special responsibility for:
Developing deeper practices and habits throughout the parish that invite, welcome and connect newcomers to St. Paul’s.
Nurture and guide our pastoral care/healing team into their next season of ministry.
Work with the clergy, staff and lay leadership to develop Christian formation opportunities for adults, teens and children.
A precise job description will be developed in consultation with the rector as we discern how the associate’s gifts can best be used with existing staff and lay leaders.
