Christ Church, Georgetown, an historic and vibrant parish in the heart of Washington, DC, seeks a full-time, experienced Associate Rector to collaborate with the Rector, Staff, and Vestry in carrying out the parish’s mission, ministry, work, and witness.
Founded in 1817, Christ Church has an average Sunday attendance of 450 across four services and a staff of 12, including three full-time priests. Our liturgical style is formal, reverent and firmly grounded in the Anglican tradition. The parish is widely-known for its excellent music program, which includes a professional choir that sings roughly 20 services of Choral Evensong each season. True to the principles of its founders, Christ Church remains politically neutral and is a congregation of diverse points of view, all of which are respected and valued. A portfolio of specific areas of responsibility will be assigned by the Rector, depending on the Associate’s gifts and experience, from among the following: Adult Formation, New Members Ministry, Liturgy Preparation, Mission and Outreach, and Parish Life Development. Applicants with experience and/or calling in any of these areas should highlight them in their application.
