|Purpose: To collaborate with the Rector on carrying out the parish mission, ministry, and vision through leadership, nurture, and support of members and newcomers; taking significant part in pastoral care administration; modeling spiritual formation growth and faithful stewardship; and patterning servant ministry that encourages parishioners for ministry within and beyond the parish. The Associate Rector assists the Rector, with support from certain members of the Clergy-Staff Team (The Curate, Director of Music and Organist, Parish Administrator, Stewardship Associate, Director of Youth Formation, Director of Children’s Formation, Communications Administrator, Receptionist and Ministry Associate), primarily by: serving as the lead clergy resource for Outreach and Community Engagement to lead and support parishioners in servanthood by volunteerism with in-house ministries (The Food Pantry, More-Than-A-Meal) and partnering with GSL outreach grant recipients, community faith-based and service agencies, and institutions committed to hope, healing, and justice; serving as the lead clergy resource for Pastoral Care visits to hospitals, private residences, and nursing communities, phone calls, e-mails, and Eucharistic visits, in conjunction with the regular, pre-surgery, and clergy-on-call schedules of fellow clergy and Pastoral Care Teams; and sharing with the Rector and the Curate in the design and offerings of Formation programs and sacraments for adults, including coordination of baptism and confirmation dates and candidate preparation; collaborating with an ad hoc Adult Formation Advisory Team; and supervising the Director of Youth Formation and Director of Children’s Formation.
Sacerdotal: Preside and/or preach at regular and seasonal liturgies according to the Clergy Rota; collaborate with the Rector and the Director of Music and Organist with liturgical planning; assist the Stewardship Associate and the Rector with recruitment of liturgical personnel; support Liturgical Ministries Team Leaders and Schedulers with training of personnel; officiate occasional weddings and administer pre-marital counseling associated with each; preside and/or preach at burials in collaboration with the Rector and the Curate.
General: Attend weekly Clergy-Staff and monthly Vestry meetings and their related events; observe 24-hour weekday sabbath period on a weekly basis; observe paid-time-off (PTO) as outlined in the Employee Handbook; attend continuing education opportunities for professional development; attend required program offerings and events of the Diocese; perform other such tasks as may be assigned by the Rector.

|Skills and Qualifications Profile of Candidate: Minimum five (5) years of Episcopal priesthood, church operations management, staff supervision, and congregational life/development experience; gifted in homiletics; development and facilitating spiritual formation offerings for adults, youth, and children; pastoral care (clergy and lay team administration); outreach and justice leadership and community partnerships engagement; and liturgical ministries administration; urban/inner-city leadership and evangelism ministry experience beneficial.
