Job Overview
Trinity Episcopal Church is seeking an ordained Episcopal priest or transitional deacon for the full-time position of Associate Rector. Trinity is a lively and growing parish with a long history of highly intentional service to our community. As a leader in our parish, our ideal Associate will possess a contagious faith, a deep love for the church, and a passion for involvement in the wider community. We are seeking candidates who would find joy in mentoring new members and young members of the parish and would work well as part of a collaborative team of clergy and lay people.

Responsibilities and Duties (in coordination with the Rector)

• Leading worship, preaching, and the administration of the sacraments;
• Pastoral care of the congregation;
• Planning, organization, and visioning for the staff team and the parish;
• Outreach and community engagement;
• Additional areas of responsibility as assigned by the rector depending on gifts, calling, and experience

Trinity Episcopal Church is a thriving parish in Florence, Alabama, on the banks of the Tennessee River. Florence is part of a metro area known as The Shoals that includes the cities of Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, and Tuscumbia as well as smaller communities. Trinity draws its membership from a two-county area with approximately 150,000 residents in the northwest corner of the state near both Mississippi and Tennessee. With good schools, affordable housing, walkable downtowns, and a high quality of life for people who love the outdoors, good food, and music, Florence and The Shoals provides a wonderful community in which to live and work.

Trinity is located in the heart of downtown Florence, just steps away from shops, restaurants, parks, historic neighborhoods, and the University of North Alabama, a public regional comprehensive with almost 9,000 students. Our beautiful, historic church building was constructed in 1894, and our grounds include a spacious park open to the community. Trinity has active and lively ministries for people of all ages and stages of life.

Salary: $50,000 (negotiable depending upon experience)
