Job Description
Who We Are

St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, Whitemarsh has always been far more than a 48-acre hilltop populated with historic buildings and beautiful landscapes. It is a blessed, beloved sanctuary, stewarded by faithful people who have found a home for prayer, study, fellowship and service. It is a community of people who strive to grow in the knowledge and love of God and to equip ourselves, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to serve in the name of Christ wherever we find ourselves. This holy hill and the inspiration and resources that emanate from it draws people from near and far of all ages and stages in life, varied perspectives, sexual orientations, physical abilities, and financial means.

We have experienced significant change over the past few years due to Covid and transitions in clergy leadership. However, under the energetic and seasoned leadership of our new Priest in Charge we are ready to take hold of the future that God has store in for us.

We seek to call a priest who will partner with us to re-envision our ministries of faith formation and who will share in our faith journey through pastoral care, worship, and service. Our associate will be a servant leader with a joyous faith, a love for God and God’s Church, and a devotion to serving God’s people. They will be a creative leader who is excited about exploring innovative ways in which to live out our lifelong discipleship as followers of Jesus Christ. Finally, our associate will be a person of deep prayer who is passionate about inviting others into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer and study.
