Job Description
St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and School is seeking a priest or transitional deacon as Assistant Rector.  St. Mark’s is a large parish with a Pre-k through 8th grade school in beautiful Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.  Founded 60 years ago, St. Mark’s has recently undergone a complete rebuilding of its 11-acre campus as well as acquiring two additional ministry properties and two houses designated as affordable housing within the community.  The congregation is Spirit-filled, mission-driven, and dedicated to being Christ’s body in this world.  The mission of St. Mark’s is to be “A beacon of faith, hope, and light.”

Working with the leadership team of Rector, Associate Rector, Youth Director, and Director of Music, the clergy person will experience a variety of ministry settings and opportunities.  Loving God and loving people are at the core of the Christian faith and successful candidates will be eager to share that love while being loved by St. Mark’s.

Responsibilities

  • Liturgical leadership, including principal services, school chapels, and weekday services
  • Pastoral care, including visiting parishioners and those in the hospital
  • Preaching regularly at all church and school liturgies
  • Leading volunteers and building ministries that serve on and off campus
  • Teaching and faith formation with adults and youth
  • Engaging newcomers and visitors
  • Management of parish tasks related to records, communications, and scheduling
