Job Description
The Assistant Rector will be the third clergy person working collaboratively with the Rector and Associate Rector serving a lively, growing Episcopal congregation in a suburban community six miles from downtown Pittsburgh. Worship, Spiritual Formation, Outreach and Pastoral Care are central to the life of our corporate sized parish. The Assistant Rector will coordinate, nurture our established Pastoral Care ministries supporting and empowering a large group of committed lay leaders – including Stephen Ministry, Lay Eucharistic Visitors and many other pastoral care ministries as well as to participate in new initiatives. Additionally, the Assistant Rector will work with others in lead roles to continue to develop Spiritual Formation programming for all ages and share in priestly ministries including preaching, administration of the Sacraments, training and empowering lay ministry and pastoral visiting. This is a new position to meet the mission and needs of a growing parish.

St. Paul’s is searching for a transitional deacon or priest who has a heart for Pastoral Care and Christian Formation who is a strong preacher and has a collaborative leadership style.

This is a full-time position with benefits; salary is commensurate with experience and in keeping with our diocesan guidelines.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is a vibrant congregation in the Diocese of Pittsburgh experiencing significant expansion. Situated in the suburban area of Pittsburgh’s South Hills, St. Paul’s has over 1200 members, 150 children enrolled in Children and Youth programs and is affiliated with the active St. Paul’s Episcopal Nursery School.

We worship on Saturdays at 6PM and Sundays at 8AM, 8:45AM & 10:45AM. Each service with a unique liturgical style and music.
