|We are living in a time of unprecedented crisis. The current pandemic highlights how interconnected and vulnerable our human family is. And we are already living with the effects of climate change, habitat destruction and loss of biodiversity. Christian preachers stand in a tradition that affirms creation as God-given and good and calls upon us humans to protect and steward this creation. How do we respond to the twin global crises now confronting us? How do we speak in the face of issues that are so overwhelming? This workshop will offer a space for preachers to explore these pressing questions. This workshop is led by the Rev. Ruthanna Hooke, Ph.D., is the associate dean of students and associate professor of homiletics, and the Rev. Anne Turner, program coordinator for Deep Calls to Deep, a VTS program to strengthen working preachers.
10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. (ET) via Zoom. $60 (early bird discount: $50).
Presented by Lifelong Learning at Virginia Theological Seminary and Deep Calls to Deep.
