The Plainsong Farm Fellowship is a twelve-week program for young adults, ages 21-30, that offers immersive experiences and education in small-scale regenerative agriculture, spiritual practice, Christian learning, entrepreneurship and leadership, and communal living.
Plainsong Farm is a center for farm-based discipleship. We are working to catalyze a culture of Christianity grounded in the stewardship of Creation, and to equip a generation of young leaders able to start and steward institutions at the intersection of discipleship, ecology, justice and health.
As a living laboratory, we integrate faith and ecology through immersive, hands-on experiences. The Farm’s CSA program offers seasonal, nutrient-dense food to community members June through October and acts as a demonstration site for environmental education and contemplative learning.
We have ONE space left in our 2019 young adult fellowship.
Fellows will participate in the work of the CSA for a portion of each weekday, getting hands-on experience growing food for people. They will participate in daily contemplative prayer, weekly Sabbath at the Farm with the wider community, seasonal events such as the heirloom wheat harvest and special events such as dinner church and bread baking workshops with national leaders. Fellows will complete a course of readings and discussions with the farm’s co-founders, program staff, and guest facilitators to provide the basics in faith-based entrepreneurship and leadership.
In 2019, a pilot cohort of up to four fellows will live in single rooms in a shared house on site at the farm. Shared living spaces with one another and with the wider communities of Plainsong Farm will enable the fellows to experience and extend hospitality. The farm is at hand as a space of sabbath refuge and reflection as well as weekday work.
