Event Details
Christians from all denominations have been inspired and amazed at the rediscovery of the story of how the Gospel came to the British Isles. The Holy Islands of Iona and Lindisfarne are now frequent places of pilgrimage, as is Canterbury Cathedral in Kent.

This coming October 2018, you and others who join us will have the opportunity to make your own Celtic Spirituality Pilgrimage, to visit the Holy Isle of Iona, the island of Lindisfarne, Northumbria, and other historic places in the history of the Church as we journey by motor coach through Scotland and England during October 7-17, 2018.
As we journey, we’ll be accompanied by the Rev. Simon Airey, an Anglican priest, professional storyteller, and a member of the Northumbria Community. Simon will share with us the stories of those saints, in those places where they lived, and stories of other sacred spots where heaven touches the earth.

I invite you to join me and Episcopalians from Arizona, and other Christian pilgrims from various churches and walks of life, on this Celtic Spirituality Pilgrimage. Let us journey in the steps of the Celtic saints who started to spread Christianity across Celtic lands in the early sixth century.

Stops on our journey include: Mull and the island of Iona, the base of Columba’s missionary operations; Kilmartin Glen, where standing stones predate Stonehenge; the city of Edinburgh and its Cathedral; the Holy Island of Lindisfarne; Durham and its historic Cathedral; Cambridge University; and Canterbury Cathedral, the primary cathedral of the worldwide Anglican communion; the seaside town of Dover and its famous cliffs; and the city of London, from which we fly home.
