The Episcopal Diocese of Fond du Lac will hold its annual Eucharistic Festival at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, 51 West Division Street in downtown Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on Saturday, June 29, 2019. The Festival begins with a Celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 11:00 a.m. and includes the diocesan United Thank Offering Ingathering. It is followed by the Bishop’s Picnic. An Evangelism Training at 2:00 p.m. is led by the Presiding Bishop’s Evangelism Team and the day ends with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at 5:30 p.m. The festival homilist is the Very Rev. C. Patrick Perkins, Dean of the Cathedral.
The Festival was the vision of the Fifth Bishop of Fond du Lac, the Rt. Rev. William H. Brady. It is designed to draw people together to display unity in Christ and proclaim the Christian faith through recognition of the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. The Bishop’s Picnic is a time for fellowship with friends, old and new and includes hot dogs, baked beans, chips, salad, soda, water & desert. A vegetarian option available. You bring the smiles and laughter and there is no cost to attend.
An Evangelism Training starts at 2:00 p.m. It is targeted to all Christians, regardless of affiliation, and open to anyone to attend. The evangelism training is part of equipping and sending people to share faith and invite their neighbors to join the Jesus Movement. Led by the Presiding Bishop’s Evangelism Team, there is no cost to attend.
“This Festival continues Bishop Brady’s vision of gathering together for worship and fellowship,” according to Bishop Matt Gunter. “It’s a great time to see old friends and make new ones while worshiping God.” There will be a freewill offering.
