The Episcopal Urban Caucus is holding an Assembly, A Year of Jubilee: God is With Us, November 1-4, in the Philadelphia area, hosted by the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania and Sponsored by Episcopal News Service. Our cities continue to grapple with significant change and challenges in education, criminal justice, implications of COVID and gentrification on real estate and congregational life. Philadelphia is ground zero for many of these issues. How will the Church respond to the city? This year’s Assembly explores opportunities for innovative missional responses and partnerships to revitalize an urban agenda for congregations, dioceses, and other Episcopal ministries. The Assembly will afford participants an opportunity to engage the Diocese of Philadelphia and leaders from around the Church who are prioritizing the life of people and communities in cities and urbanized suburbs. The Assembly will provide information, resources, and networking opportunities for people discerning approaches to responding to call to justice and equity in our cities around the nation. The Assembly will also include times of worship and celebration, as well as Board meeting for the Episcopal Urban Caucus, which has been dedicated to justice-making in urban contexts since 1980. |
