The Blessed Absalom Jones Celebration is an annual event in the Diocese of New York in remembrance of the life and ministry of the first person of African descent ordained a deacon and priest in the Episcopal Church. Beginning at 10:30 AM, the Eucharist features the Diocesan Festival Choir, led by Jeannine Otis and Bill Randolph. The Rt. Rev. Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows, Bishop of Indianapolis, will be the guest preacher. The Rt. Rev. Andrew M. L. Dietsche, Bishop of New York, will be the celebrant at this festive Eucharist attended by parishioners from around the Diocese and beyond. All are welcome to attend.
