Episcopalians around the United States came together in the wake of the violence in
Charlottesville to pray for peace and witness to their baptismal promise to work for justice and
respect the dignity of every human being. Vigils took place from All Saints Episcopal Church in
Pasadena, California, to the steps of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Boston shown
here. More vigils are planned in the days to come, including one at Christ Episcopal Church in
Toms River, New Jersey, ahead of a community gathering April 14 outside that community’s
town hall. Photo: Bill Parnell/Diocese of Massachusetts
