England: Bishops begin journey towards Eco Diocese status

[Anglican Communion News Service] The U.K.-based Christian environmental charity A Rocha is expanding its already-successful Eco Church award scheme and is now looking to recognize Eco Dioceses. Ruth Valerio, A Rocha’s director of churches and theology, outlined the scheme last week at a breakfast seminar attended by Christian conservationists and more than 50 Anglican bishops. Three of them – from Chichester, Birmingham and Canterbury – signed on the dotted line to begin the process for of registering their sees as Eco Dioceses.
