I am just stunned! I know that Bishop Mary was scheduled to officiate at the Wedding of the Pastor of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Sunnyvale, at 1:30 PM, on Saturday, June 21st.

I know this because my husband and I were married in the same place on Saturday, June 21st, 1980. That was the day that the newly formed Diocese of El Camino elected its first bishop, Rt. Rev. Charles Shannon Mallory.

I am still on the mailing list for St. Thomas. Although I left St. Thomas, and the Diocese of El Camino, in 2006; I am still connected in many ways.

My heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers go to Bishop Mary and her family, the Diocese of El Camino, and the friends and family of Michael Reeves. May God grant them strength and comfort.

We in the Diocese of San Joaquin appreciate the support and assistance we have received from the Diocese of El Camino, in our efforts to rebuild the Episcopal Diocese of San Joaquin. We regard the Diocese of El Camino as our “neighbor and sister” Diocese. A loss to them is a loss to us.

    Always,

      Dear Betty,

You may not remember me, but I am a member of St. Thomas. We are all deeply saddened by Michael’s death. Bishop Mary did officiate at the wedding of Rev. Rob Keim on Saturday. (She learned of the accident later in the day after the wedding.)
